A full skirt style inspired by sculptor Edmonia Lewis. Her neoclassical work displays an intense romanticism that marked her out during the 1860’S. She was also notably queer!

The Edmonia Skirt has an adjustable waistband based on mid 19th century men’s underwear. The overlapping button tabs at the back gives a 3” range in sizes! This makes the skirt perfect for layering any time of year. Tuck in your sweaters for maximum coziness and just button the waist a little wider for comfort! The open slit at the center back is hidden by a modesty panel that hooks on for security. Made in a lovely linen and cotton blend and trimmed with cotton lace the overall look is very flouncy and femme, but in a material that wears for a long time! And of course it has hidden pockets in the side seams! 

The skirt measures 32” long with a 2” wide waistband.
