About us

I started I Do Declare in 2009 to make the clothes I wanted to see in the world. For years I ran it on the side around a retail job. After 10 years of very slowly expanding I was finally able to quit my day job and run IDD full time! Now I’m joined by my spouse, Ash, who has always been helping in their spare time. Ash has been taking on more duties and I’m so pleased to finally be designing pieces with them!

We want to create gorgeous historicaly inspired clothing that’s well made, comfortable and truly brings people joy. I wear my clothing like armor against the world. I want what I wear to feel romantic and but not impractical. I Do Declare is the best version of that balance for me!
